Indoor or outdoor courts? Playing in Manila weather

Rain, heat and evening games change where you should play. Here’s what’s different indoors and outdoors, and where to find each in Metro Manila.

Know what changes

Indoor courts32 venuesof the 43 we list
  • Play through rain and midday heat
  • No wind, so the ball flies true
  • Often need non-marking shoes
Outdoor or partly outdoor8 venuesof the 43 we list
  • Open air and natural light
  • Wind and sun change your shots
  • Rain stops play until the court dries

Plan around the weather

From around June to October, heavy afternoon rain and typhoons are common in Metro Manila. From March to May, the midday heat is the problem. For outdoor games, book early morning or evening, bring extra water, and check the forecast before you leave.

Good to knowCourts that are covered but open at the sides keep the rain off, but wind and heat still reach you.

Match your ball and shoes

  • Indoor balls are lighter with larger holes. Outdoor balls are harder with smaller holes, and hold their line better in the wind.
  • Indoor courts often ask for non-marking soles. Outdoor courts wear shoes out faster.

How we checked

We checked each venue’s own website, social page or booking app on Nov 5, 2026, and for a few venues a public court directory. Every venue page lists its sources. We only show a rate the venue publishes itself, so 18 venues show “Rates on request”. Rates change, so confirm with the venue before you book. Seen a newer price? Tell us.

FAQ

Do outdoor courts close when it rains?

Play usually stops until the court is dry, because wet courts are slippery. Check with the venue before you go.

Which venues have both indoor and outdoor courts?

Neopolitan Brittany Pickleball Club (10 indoor + 4 outdoor), SM City Bicutan Pickleball Courts (4 outdoor rooftop on the 3rd level + 2 covered on the 2nd level), Picklelines – The Pickleball (3 covered + 3 outdoor) and Seascape Picklebay (2 indoor on the third floor + 2 outdoor at the lawn area).
