Costs & booking

Court rental or open play: which should you book?

There are two ways to play: rent a whole court for your group, or join an open play and get rotated into games. Here’s how they compare in Metro Manila.

Compare the two

Rent a court₱300–₱1,200per court, per hour
  • Best with four players for doubles
  • You choose who plays and for how long
  • Good for drills, lessons and set matches
Join open play₱150–₱450per player
  • Best when you’re on your own or a pair
  • The host mixes players near your level
  • No need to organise a group

Do the math for your group

At the median rate of the venues we list, ₱600 per court per hour, here’s each player’s share:

Group1 hour2 hours
2 players₱300 each₱600 each
4 players₱150 each₱300 each
6 players₱100 each₱200 each

Open play costs ₱250 per player at a typical venue we list (₱150–₱450 per player at the 21 venues that list a fee). Check whether that covers a whole session or an hour.

Rule of thumbWith four players, renting usually costs each of you less. With one or two, open play is simpler and often cheaper.

Pick the one that fits

  • Rent a court if you have a group of four, want to practise something specific, or need a fixed time.
  • Join open play if you’re solo, want to meet players near your level, or don’t want to organise anything.

How we checked

We checked each venue’s own website, social page or booking app on Nov 5, 2026, and for a few venues a public court directory. Every venue page lists its sources. We only show a rate the venue publishes itself, so 18 venues show “Rates on request”. Rates change, so confirm with the venue before you book. Seen a newer price? Tell us.
